  18. Take 1 1/3 cup Whipping Cream (chilled)

Steps to make Red & Green Velvet Cake:

  1. To bake the cake
  2. Sift all the dry ingredients. Mix well. Keep it aside. - In a dip mixing bowl, place butter and sugar, beat until combined.
  3. Add one egg at a time and beat well. - Add all the liquid ingredients one at a time and beat well after each addition.
  4. Add the dry ingredients little at a time and beat well. Divide the batter equally in to two different bowls. - Add green food gel in one bowl and add red food gel in another bowl.
  5. Mix well until combined.
  6. Grease two 9- inch pans and pour red batter in one pan and the green pan in another pan. - Smoothen the top and tap the pan. - Per-heat the oven to 180 degree C. - Bake the cakes for 30 mins or until it’s done.
  7. Remove from the pan and allow it to cool completely
  8. To Frost
  9. Beat the cream until thick and fluffy.(Do not over beat) - Add in the cream cheese and the powdered sugar and beat well. - Add the vanilla essence and beat until smooth.
  10. To Assemble
  11. Slice a thin layer off the top of the cake to create a flat surface. - In a plate, apply little frosting in the middle and place one cake. - You can add sugar syrup on the top of the cake, if adding.
  12. Use about 1 cup of frosting to fill the bottom cake layer then place the other cake on the top. Add the sugar syrup. - Use the rest of the Frosting to ice the whole cake. - Decorate the cake as you desire.

  14. NOTE - You can add either red or green food colour to the whole batter. - And bake red or green velvet cake. - This was my feast cake..so I used both green and red food colour gel.
