- Take a large bowl. Mix together oats, curd, milk, oil, honey and egg. Keep aside for minimum 45 minutes for the oats to hydrate.
- Take another large bowl. Mix together wheat flour, maida, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
- Gently pour the oats-curd mixture until just combined. DO NOT OVERMIX WHICH MAY RESULT IN A DENSE BREAD!
- If you feel the mixture is a little dry, add ¼ cup milk more into it to make it into a better consistency.
- Grease a 9×5 inches bread loaf pan with butter and pour this batter.
- Spread it oit with a spatula(back of a spoon) and sprinkle some oats on top for decoration. Bake in pre-heated oven to 375°F or 190°C for 60 minutes or until golden brown.
- Alternatively incase you don’t have an oven, heat a large kadhai with salt at the bottom. Place a wire stand inside, close the lid and pre-heat for 15 minutes. Open the lid and place the bread loaf pan on the wire stand. Close and cook for approximately 60-75 minutes on medium-low flame.
- Check the crust to be golden. Insert a toothpick to check if it is completely cooked.
- Once done, remove the loaf pan and let it cool completely before slicing it.
- You can store this at room temperature for 2 days or you can refrigerate upto 5 days. Or else you can freeze it and use it for upto 2 weeks.
- This tastes best with a nutella spread or a cream cheese spread
