  3. Take 6 oz butter/soft margarine
  4. Make ready 12 oz self raising flour

  1. Peel, core and grate apples
  2. Mix flour, ger and butter / margarine together until it resembles cbs
  3. Add sugar, apples and sultanas.
  4. Beat the eggs and add to mixture.
  5. Mix until well combined
  6. Grease and line a 2 lb loaf tin, pour mixture in, level top.
  7. Bake at 180C for 1 hour, until a skewer / toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Allow to cool in tin for 10 minutes then tip out on to wire rack to cool.
  9. Serve. Can be served warm or cold
  10. You can substitute ground cinnamon for the ger.
  11. I use demerara sugar, but you can use white or golden.
