Instructions to make Khaman cake(nylon khaman):

  1. First take 1/2 cup of water then add turmeric, sugar, salt, citric acid, asafoetida etc. Then mix the all ingredients. Now add this mixture in the gram flour. Then beat this batter in one direction for 5 minutes. Keep aside for 10 minutes.
  2. Now take water in a boiler cooker and start boiling. And grease a cake tin with oil. Now add 1 tsp of baking soda in the batter then beat in the same direction. Batter will become fluffy after this process.
  3. Pour the batter in greased cake tin and place it in the boiling cooker. Boil for 20 to 25 minutes. Then check it with toothpick. If stick the batter on toothpick then boil it for 5 minutes otherwise khaman cake is ready.
  4. For topping first make cuts on the cake then take 2 tbsp oil and mustard seeds and heat it.when mustard seeds crackle add asafoetida, sesame seeds, curry leaves & chilli pieces in this. Then add 1/4 cup water, salt and sugar in it then boil till the sugar melt. Pour this mixture on the khaman cake. Then decorate it with crushed coconut. Your juicy khaman cake is ready to eat.
