  1. Prepare 1 cup suji/semolina
  2. Prepare Half cup curd
  3. Take 1/4 cup oil
  4. Make ready 1/2 tsp jeera

  6. Take 2 tbsp chopped capsicum
  7. Take 1 chopped green chilli
  8. Make ready as per taste Salt
  9. Take 1/4 th tsp black pepper powder
  10. Take 1/4 th cup + 1 tbsp water
  11. Get Half tsp ger powder
  12. Take Half tbsp garlic powder
  13. Prepare Hal tsp baking soda
  14. Take 1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
  15. Prepare as required Turmeric powder
  16. Get as requried White/black sesame seeds for garnishing (optional)

Instructions to make Eggless Spicy Semolina Cake:

  1. Heat a pan add 1 tbsp of oil. Then add some jeera to it. Let them splutter. Then add chopped onion, chopped capsicum, chopped green chilli. Mix everything well. You can add any veggies of your choice.
  2. Then add salt, ger powder, garlic powder & turmeric powder. Mix it and saute everything for about 2 to 3 mins. Let it cool down. Keep this mixture aside.
  3. Now take a bowl and add suji, salt curd & oil to it. Mix everything well. Now cover the bowl & keep it let it rest for about 10 mins.
  4. After 10 mins., add pepper powder & water and mix everything well. Now add fried veggies & chopped coriander leaves to it and give everything a good mix.
  5. Then finally add baking soda to it and salt if required. Give it a good mix.
  6. Now greese a cake tin with some oil and apply a butter paper over it. Now pour the mixture into it. Sprinkle some sesame seeds and some chopped coriander leaves over it. Then tap the cake-tin twice so that if there’s any air-bubble it gets off.
  7. Now take a kadai for pre-heating with it’s base covered with salt and a stand over it. Cover it and pre-heat the kadai for 3 mins on high flame and then 5 mins. on medium flame.
  8. Then open the lid and place the cake tin over it. Cover it and bake it on a low flame for about 30 to 35 mins. Let it cool down completely then demould it and serve it.
