- Prepare Vanilla Sponge Cake
- Get 120 gm All Purpose Flour
- Prepare 80 gm Powdered Sugar

- Get 1 tbsp Vinegar

- Prepare 100 gm All Purpose Flour
- Get 3 tbsp Cocoa Powder
- Prepare 80 gm Powdered Sugar
- Make ready 100 gm Curd
- Take 1 tsp Baking Powder
- Get 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
- Prepare 1 tsp Vanilla essence
- Make ready 1 tbsp Vinegar
- Make ready 50 ml Refined Oil
- Make ready 100 ml Milk
- Take Chocolate Ganache
- Get 150 gm Dark Chocolate Compound
- Get 1/4 cup Cream
- Make ready 1/4 cup Milk
Steps to make Checkerboard Cake:
- Preheat Oven / Pot.
- Take a round cake tin. Apply some oil and do the dusting with all purpose flour
- Take a bowl. Add oil, curd and sugar. Mix them well.
- Now add All purpose flour, baking soda and baking powder with the help of strainer into the bowl.
- Add Vanilla Essence. Now mix them all well by adding milk to it to make a consistent batter.
- Also add vinegar now and mix everything well.
- Cake batter is ready. Put it in the cake tin and tap it to remove any air in between the batter.
- Now if you bake in pot, put the cake tin for 35 to 40 minutes to make the cake and for 25 to 30 minutes in oven at 180 degree if baking in oven.
- Similarly make Chocolate Sponge Cake. The only change have to be made is that we have to add Cocoa Powder when adding All Purpose Flour in the bowl.
- After making both the cake let them cool for 2 to 3 hours.
- Make chocolate ganache with the help of double boiler method or by melting chocolate in microwave.
- Now add Cream and milk to the melted chocolate. Mix well and let it cool for some time.
- Now cut both the cake in two layers each.
- Now cut each layers in the form of ring with the help of a round cutter or by using small bowls. Rings should be of different size.
- Arrange all the rings in form of checkerboard.
- Now apply whipped cream on each layers of the cake and make a cake using all four layers in which the outer layer of 2 layers are chocolate and 2 are vanilla. Put them alternately to make a cake.
- Now cover the whole cake with the chocolate Ganache.
- Decorate the cake with strawberry.
- Now put the cake in refrigerator for 4 to 5 hours before serving.
